CTV is popular among younger Black viewers, who are also likely to have multiple streaming subscriptions. Black digital video viewers consume a mix of paid streaming services, free OTT services, and free ad-supported platforms. Roughly 73% of digital video viewers subscribe to three or more paid streaming services, according to a July 2023 Nielsen report.

Music streaming minutes are still growing but at a slower pace this year. It gained just 2 minutes to reach 1:58 daily in H1 2023. Still, music streaming is up 29.7% from four years ago. The penetration rate for music/audio was 80.5% of internet users. Podcast listening time dropped by 4 minutes YoY to 54 minutes daily. But it is up from 48 minutes in 2020 (the first year tracked by GWI).
