Around one-quarter plan to decrease spending on linear TV, while approximately 10% will spend more. Meanwhile, one-third of marketers will cut print spending, while just 8% plan to spend more. ĢAV 6 in 10 will hold steady on this channel.

On the other hand, Argentina was last place in Latin America in time spent with print press, as well as with social/messaging and podcasts. Brazil. Latin America’s most populous country is the regional leader in eight of the 11 time spent categories GWI measured. This is up from six categories last year.

Radio and print still have strong standing in the region. But time spent with digital media activities is also picking up steam. Norway, new to GWI’s survey this year, led the region in various time-spent metrics and device ownership categories. The country’s consumers have a greater affinity for streaming sticks/devices, VR headsets, digital audio, TV, streaming, and print press.

Next year out-of-home advertising will be the only traditional media channel still growing, notching up 4% compared to the declines across radio, print, and TV that we're expecting. That said, it's the digital part of out-of-home that is driving it. Traditionals out-of-home share, two-thirds of a total will fall by a point. Digital will be going up.

A focus on digital marketing: According to Forbes, the cost per impression via digital marketing can be considerably less than for print or other traditional marketing. Plus, it’s easier to track prospects reached by digital ads than to track direct mail that may or may not reach the end user or TV ads that customers may not see.
