Amazon Ads is where most buyers have tested retail media so far. Almost three-quarters of buyers bought ads from Amazon in the past 12 months. Intent to buy or place ads is even higher—as it was for most of the RMNs in our survey. Walmart Connect, Loblaw Media/Advance, and Instacart Ads rounded out the primary options with buying intent scores over 50%.

State-level bans in the US are gaining steam; bans remain on the table in Japan, the UK, Germany, and France. Focusing on Southeast Asia should soften the blow somewhat should more bans go into effect. That said, the US accounted for over half of TikTok’s 2022 ad revenues, so a US ban would still be catastrophic.
