Let me shout out Reddit very quickly. It's the one platform where we're seeing very strong growth, a little over 11% growth in time spent this year. A lot of this hype from the IPO I think has had a positive impact on the platform. They're differentiating themselves very well. So Reddit is one of the positive platforms there. Reddit will come in at a paltry $0.05. YouTube, which doesn’t fit neatly into any category above, would be low on the list. YouTube’s struggle with monetization is real, as it will only draw $0.13 per hour of time spent per person this year. Marketers know YouTube’s reach is unmatched, but neither Google nor its advertising partners have unlocked its potential yet. What does it all mean?

They're also turning to Reddit in order to gauge whether a product is worth buying, because there are so many authentic consumer reviews on there that are speaking to how they use the product, how useful it was, comparing it to others. Honestly, the missing link there is just adding where to buy it, the link to buy it on Reddit. Marcus Johnson (15:25):.

Daily social network time is reaching a plateau, as the explosive growth in social video is approaching a saturation point. Even growth in time spent with TikTok is slowing, a sign that there’s a limit to how much social video people want to consume daily.

Its past few algorithm updates had started to favor user content and Reddit a lot more than other sources, and I think people are starting to see challenges with Google as a primary platform for getting news. Marcus Johnson (16:54):. Yeah. Something else that jumped out to me on the social media side of things was TikTok.

Meanwhile, I think Reddit could take a cash infusion generated by its IPO to fix its internal search engine, siphoning off even more searches from Google. Heavy users of social media, along with younger folks, will increase their use of social searches on platforms like TikTok, and consumers will keep heading to Amazon to start or finish their paths to purchase. Marcus Johnson:. Okay.

Reddit has these highly moderated communities where you have pretty civil discussions and hundreds of thousands of people participating. Now, that's text-based. People are just typing in comments in a sort of moderated and regulated environment to talk about deeply political or deeply sensitive topics and it works.
