Time spent with mobile devices favors smartphones by a wide margin in Southeast Asia. Time with mobile reached 4:29 daily this year in Southeast Asia, 1:34 more than time with PC/laptop/tablet. Almost every country in the Middle East and Africa experienced a drop in time spent with online TV/streaming. It was the largest global drop, as the average regional time decreased by 13 minutes to 1:40.

We have split out China, India, Japan, and Southeast Asia in the table below rather than aggregate Asia-Pacific. All these markets are in line for strong ecommerce years, although India and Southeast Asia are decelerating from boom times, while China and Japan will post slight rebounds. Emerging markets will lead the growth rankings for years to come.

I think we're going to see a sea change from where the Biden administration took it, which is they're pushing for regulation. They got a lot of AI startups and big tech companies to buy into that idea. They sort of signed initial ways to ensure that there's regulation. I think that's going to change.
