The top reason high-income consumers bought a new brand or product across consumer electronics, food, beauty, furniture and home goods, accessories, and shoes categories was that it was of better quality than a similar product. For clothing, household supplies, and health and personal care, a better price was the top reason.

Toys and apparel are currently “bright spots” for the retailer, due in part to lower prices but also because of the larger selection of products available on its marketplace. Walmart is also seeing healthy sales of discretionary items like TVs and headphones at the start of Q4—a good omen for its holiday performance.

But as you pointed out, there's still a lot of competition out there, and fast fashion is only getting I think more popular. While that can be problematic, creators aren’t alone in this: Fact-checking has also gone out of fashion among social executives, while “misinformation” has become a buzzword that encompasses everything from outright lies to viewpoints people disagree with. Podcasters are particularly powerful news creators. News is a top podcast genre.

Dollar Tree and Family Dollar sales grew 3.6% YoY to $7.57 billion in Q3, ahead of analyst projections of $7.45 billion. Same-store sales rose 1.8%. Dollar Tree’s sales increased 8.3% YoY to $4.34 billion, and same-store sales grew 1.8%.

The top spending categories outside of fashion and beauty were personal care, followed by household supplies. And the fastest growing category was vitamins and supplements. Cash App Card. Cash App Card transactions grew 19% YoY over the holiday period. Social commerce purchases made using the debit card surged 139% YoY.
