But the reason I didn't pick Target at Walmart, because they already have an extensive party collection, so Target, Walmart are not going to benefit from it. But if you think about a Costco, they don't really have a good party selection at all. And so for a partnership to work, it has to help both brands and in this case it'll be much better for... Party City couldn't figure it out, which is sad.

Both Walmart and Amazon are experimenting with physical commerce in the metaverse by integrating product listings and other commerce tools into video games. To compound Dollar General’s problems, while its core lower-income customer is under considerable financial pressure, middle- and higher-income customers are not feeling stretched enough to trade down to dollar stores, preferring instead to stick with Walmart or else go straight to Temu.

Its projected $3.13 billion in ad revenues will represent 86.0% of all US retail media CTV ad spending, though a pending deal by Walmart to acquire TV-maker Vizio could start to have an impact toward the end of the year. Nobody ever talks about Sam's Club as much as they talk about Walmart, but they really are doing some cool things when it comes to making the shopping experience more frictionless, and trying to really use AI in this instance to make something that was annoying for everybody, and probably costly for Sam's Club, go faster, which is that Scan & Go.

So we recently published an update to our retail media forecast, and while we're still expecting the spending on retail media to grow at a rapid clip, it's on track to reach nearly 100 billion in ad spend by 2028, our forecast was revised downward, slightly following more subdued quarterly growth from Amazon and Walmart.
