The news: Ecommerce giant Asos is expanding its Asos Media Group (AMG) retail media business in the face of a challenging economic environment, per The Drum. The retailer launched its retail media business in 2021 and currently supports social media campaigns, targeted emails, and app push notifications. It recently partnered with Criteo to help it expand its advertising offerings.

Yeah, it's an interesting one because it struggled a little bit to recruit the kind of bigger brands onto the platform, but I was quite surprised to see some Nielsen data that found TikTok Shop was the seventh-biggest beauty retailer in the UK.

An example of the latter is Amazon Prime Video targeting using shopping history on the ecommerce platform. Additionally, retailers are opening their media networks to non-endemic buyers (brands that don’t usually sell through the retailer property but offer related products that appeal to certain user behaviors). In-store ad inventory also represents a growing opportunity.

Well, I think one aspect is that some of the younger Gen Z are not doing the grocery shopping in their households. It's their parents doing the grocery shopping, so they need to be in the stores where their parents are buying groceries, for a start. Secondly, in the UK, the big grocers here have an absolute massive hold on the UK grocery market.
