This is a sports and culture news website that spun off of Deadspin, which is a site that was formerly owned by G/O Media and Gawker before that. The staff at Deadspin basically quit in a mass protest and have founded Defector about three years ago, and it's done extremely well for them. They post every year a yearly update of their finances.
