The news: Affirm is reportedly considering a subscription service called Affirm Plus, per Bloomberg. Code for the service was discovered in the company’s iPhone app. Affirm Plus would guarantee a 0% annual percentage rate (APR) on installment loans up to $2,500. On the other hand, to put it in perspective, I can't think of a single streaming service that hasn't had an outage or a stumble during a high profile livestream. It happens to virtually every service. There's a different set of metrics that goes into live programming versus on-demand programming, and I think Netflix is discovering that. So this is a stumble, but they will overcome it.

The Streaming Wars Are Heating Up in Canada. Five years ago, Netflix was the dominant OTT player on the Canadian scene. Domestic challengers came and went, while services like Hulu and HBO Max weren’t (and still aren’t) available in Canada. Since then, a host of new services have launched, including Disney+, Apple TV+, and Paramount+, creating greater competition in the market.
