Apple TV has the MLS and MLB. Max has the MLB and March Madness. Paramount has Serie A and Champions League. I can go on and on. Netflix is late to the game. Of course they should have gotten involved earlier. Sports is huge. We know the differentiator that it creates when we think of traditional cable providers and streaming services.

This is how YouTube and Apple TV and all the others, peacock, Disney, paramount, they all started maybe not Disney, they'd already had ESPN. But a lot of these companies start by licensing a couple of games or franchises and then they go deeper into it as Amazon has done as YouTube has done. So I think this is a first step for Netflix.

It was Apple TV on a Friday, and it was Amazon on Saturday, and on Sunday it was Peacock, and then it was YES network, and then they had a game on Fox, and it was all within the same week. So if someone's still trying to watch their favorite show on Netflix and still watch Ted Lasso on Apple TV, they want to have the option to pay as less as possible. With that, they're able to subsidize that with watching ad-supported content.

They've mentioned in the past that they basically couldn't compete because they couldn't be profitable paying the prices that YouTube and Apple TV have for Amazon Prime for Thursday night football, things like this, but we talk about this a lot here.
