TV is losing ad share much faster than viewer attention. Traditional TV is more popular than advertisers seem to think it is. TV will claim just 15.1% of all US ad spending this year, though US adults will spend almost a quarter of their daily media time with old-fashioned cable, satellite, and broadcast TV services.

So the fact that they come from a legacy media background means that they have contractual obligations still in that cable TV universe, where you don't have as much control over seasonality of programming as Netflix does. The other thing that I think gets in Disney's way is that its streaming portfolio is also three very separate brands.

If you have cable TV and Amazon Prime and almost everyone has Amazon Prime. If you have cable and Amazon Prime, you're going to have more NBA games than ever. It's not going to actually be too hard to access this because Disney stuff is all still going to be on TV and NBC stuff is going to be on TV, and then we all have Amazon. So I don't know. I'm kind of down with this.
