Germany lags in smartphone viewing; Italy leads. In Germany, less than 63% of digital video viewers will watch on a smartphone in 2023. In France, by contrast, penetration will approach 69% next year, according to our estimates. In Italy and Spain, the shares will be 80.4% and 73.0%, respectively. Several factors contribute to these differences.
